The Pizza Project
Recently-launched “The Pizza Project has already won our stamp of approval. Located in SoHo, it’s the ideal pit stop after a busy day out. This place is all about amazingly delicious pizzas and quick, no-fuss dining. Its simple one-page menu is centred around a selection of affordable, handmade pizzas (a Margherita is just $70!) made with fresh ingredients with a crunchy crust. While there’s no dedicated children’s menu, there’s enough to please the kids. If they aren’t in the mood for pizza, order a serving of the Mozzarella Fritatta — full of crunchy, cheesy goodness!

Homeslice
Open from lunch till late, Homeslice’s 12″ pizzas are delightfully charred and oozing with buffalo mozzarella. It offers a perfectly crisp Neapolitan-style base topped with flavoursome artisan toppings. When you see the menu at Homeslice, you know it’s been made with kids in mind. I’m sure you’ve arrived at a restaurant only to have your little one proclaim, “I’m not hungry” or “I don’t want that”! And so, that’s exactly what they’ve named the dishes on the children’s menu. If that doesn’t make them laugh and win them over, then the signature milkshakes will!

FINI’s
Fini’s combines the heartiness of American food with the freshness and style of Italian cuisine. Its massive New York-style pizzas are what kids love most – you can’t go wrong with the Homemade Sausage pizza featuring rich Italian sausage, gooey mozzarella, tomato sauce and oregano. If you are not in the mood for meat, go for the Brooklyn Special with fresh mozzarella, fried eggplant, basil, roasted garlic and peppers. Yum!
The best part? Kids under 10 eat for free on weekdays from 4pm to 7pm. The special children’s “Bingo” menu asks kids to tick the box they like — from the “Don’t Know” (spaghetti and meatball all covered with cheese) to the “Something Yummy” (spaghetti bolognese), the “Anything” (crispy chicken cutlet with fries) or “Pizza!”.

Amalfitana
Swap the big city hustle for the relaxing atmosphere of Repulse Bay and add fresh air and sunshine to your pizza party, when you dine at Amalfitana. It’s a great option especially for kids who hate waiting for their food – let them just play on the beach while the pizza is being made.
The perfectly crisp base, freshly-made sauce and supreme quality toppings make this seaside spot an absolute must for pizza lovers. There are even Bambino Pizzas (ranging from $70 to $85) just for kids. Drawing inspiration from the Italian coastline and headed by Italian-born Chef Michel Degli Agosti, Amalfitana relies on traditional methods and ingredients but caters for a modern palette.

Motorino
There’s something so charmingly Italian about Motorino. Whether you’re watching the world go by on the SoHo escalators, or tucked away in the coolest part of Wan Chai, there is a warmth and a cosiness to this establishment that feels truly authentic. The service is always spot on as well.
With a sauce that must have been passed down through generations and a vast selection of toppings to choose from, Motorino is no doubt a top pick. We love the Bresaola with Arugula, Fior Di Latte, Pecorino and Extra Virgin Olive when we’re looking for something substantial and savoury (the saltiness from the cured meat adds to this). If you’re a cheese lover, there can be no wrong done when ordering the Quattro Formaggi (Gorgonzola, Provolone, Fior Di Latte, Pecorino, Parsley and Chili Oil), or if you want to get your greens in with your cheese, opt for the oh-so-delicious Spinach & Scamorza. But save room for dessert because once the kids eye that Nutella Calzone, they’ll be begging you to order one (trust us, it’s de-lish!).

Andrea’s Bagel Crust Pizza
Opened in late 2017 by Chef Karen (the same remarkable woman who owns Taco Chaca), Andrea’s specialises in bagel crusts and a whole lot of friendly neighbourhood attitude. The pizzas are super tasty and packed with awesome ingredients, freshly prepared to order and made with love. Some top contenders are the Thai Green Curry Chicken or Black Truffle Salsa, with tons of savoury flavour and the best union of doughy and crunch.
Picky kids can build their pizzas themselves, choosing any ingredient they like! The shopfront is quite small, so best to grab this one to go.

Alvy’s
Alvy’s is a classic American-esque pizza place with a twist – everything is fresh and of great quality and packed with rich flavours. It’s dimly lit, but still family-friendly (kids will be mesmerised by all the tiny toy dinosaurs lining the walls). Alvy’s has a great selection of starters on the menu, and the pizza options range from the tried-and-tested to one that we’re actually dying to try: the Fort Greene (named after a hip area in Brooklyn), with Basil Pesto, Shaved Asparagus, Sautéed Mushrooms and Bocconcini (a good way to get the greens into your little ones’ mouths!). Be sure to check up on the specials as well.

Pizzeria Jacomax
Pizzeria Jacomax might not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re thinking of classic pizza spots in HK, but there is something to be said for the way the chefs here make the most delectable Gorgonzola and Apple White Pizza. If (like us) you’re a fan of unexpected flavours or trying new things, then this pizza is a must! The combination of bold, strong gorgonzola is perfectly paired with the sweetness of the thinly sliced apples on white sauce, with a crunchy base. It’s a little surprise in every bite and is worth every dollar.
But we know kids may not be fond of bold flavours, so thankfully Jacomax has a few safe bets: Buffalina for those who like to keep things simple, and Crudo with Mozzarella, Tomato, Rocket, Parma ham and Grana Padana for some classic Italian flavours.

Café Deco Pizzeria
Eating out can be an expensive venture, so you know we love a good deal. Café Deco Pizzeria has a special from Monday to Wednesday where it’s basically buy one, get one free on its amazing pizzas (the cheapest of the two being free) after 6pm. There’s a really cool vibe here with the open pizza kitchen, and the deal is tailor-made for families and big groups.
Café Deco works on an idea of “flavours beyond the traditions,” so be prepared for wonderfully interesting flavour combinations and topping choices. From Confit Duck and Foie Gras or Japanese Miso Cod to Char Siu or Korean Bulgogi Beef, there’s no denying the Asian inspiration here. For something a little different, try the Apple Smoked Salmon (Dill Yoghurt Base, Mozzarella, Capers, Peppers, Pickle and Green Apple), or the M6 Wagyu Beef and Prawn (Mozzarella, Asparagus, Roasted Capsicum, Spring Onion and Roasted Garlic Aioli). The menu is extensive and covers all avenues, with veg options and something for the more daring.

Paisano’s
This is the ideal spot for when you’ve got weekday sports, after-school activities or ballet lessons, and only 30 minutes to feed the fam. Paisano’s has the biggest slices of pizza you’ve ever seen, with cheese, pepperoni and the works! It’s also a favourite among tweens and teens when they want a friends-only hangout, so you know it’s a win-win. From Bacon Cheeseburger to the classic Pepperoni, Paisano’s is the place you go to when you just need a huge slice of cheesy goodness. Or a giant 24” monster pizza.

Pizza Express
Pizza Express is an all-round crowd-pleaser with options to suit hungry little mouths as well as more grown-up tastes. We love the Peking Duck pizza as well as the il Sorriso (with honey chicken and ricotta) not to mention the indulgent gorgonzola and parmesan garlic bread! Kids will want to make sure they save room for dessert — dough balls with Nutella for dipping make for a real sweet treat. The restaurants are super family-friendly if you feel like dining out and you can otherwise order delivery for an easy pizza night at home. You can even book your kids in for a Pizza-Making birthday party!
